Aliens in humanoid form land near a seaside town called Kai Horo - their craft disguised as an old mansion - and slaughter the inhabitants, packing the pieces into cardboard boxes for sending as samples to an inter-galactic fast food chain. A passing charity collector is captured alive for seasoning as a special feast. The government sends public servants - in the form of a unit of the Internal Affairs Department - to investigate the aliens and deal with them. Location shots mostly around Makara, Pukerua Bay and Porirua. You might compare the U.S. cover art (on the left) with the original art used on the CD cover (below).

"Bad Taste ... was shot on 16mm negative, using 100 foot loads! I think the weekly pay packet from (Peter Jackson's) newspaper lithography job (there's another defunct technology) went on buying film and processing. 100 feet of 16mm = approx 2 Minutes 40 seconds, give or take." - Costa Botes
