Most Fun You Can Have Dying, The - 2012DVD UPC/EAN # 9312590154652 Cast: Matt Whelan, Roxane Mesquida, Pana Hema-Taylor, Sophie Henderson, Caren Pistorius, Clementine Howe, Colin Moy. Screenplay: Kirstin Marcon from a novel by Steven Gannaway; Director of Photography: Crighton Bone; Make-up Designer: Deb Watson; Composer: Grayson Gilmour; Casting Directors: Mike and Matt Dwyer; Editor: Peter Roberts; Costume Design: Liz McGregor; Production Design: Bruce Everard; Post Production Producer: Roger Grant; New Zealand Line Producer: Kristian Eek; European Production Manager: Lucas Meyer-Hentschel; European Service Producer: Matthias Kraus; Executive Producer: Timothy White; Producer: Alex Cole-Baker; Director: Kirstin Marcon. Michael's in a race against time after learning he has only months to live. Stealing his own treatment money, he leaves his loved ones behind and heads to London. Intent on going out in a blur of sex, drugs and mayhem, everything changes when he falls for a mysterious French girl named Sylvie. I found Hema-Taylor character much more likeable than Whelan's, which tended to get in the way of fully enjoying the story. Perhaps concluding with a more homoerotic relationship might have resulted in a better ending. Shot in Auckland, Hamilton, Cambridge and Raglan New Zealand, plus London, Paris, Monreal, Mayen, Berlin, Munich, Nice, Monaco, Milan, Venice and Hong Kong.
