Young Randy Cambell yearns to be New Zealand's greatest living stuntman, but his rocket powered BMX will not get him across Cook Strait. Years later, after many heartbreaks, Randy constructs a massive ramp and a rocket car - he still plans to jump the 15 miles across Cook Strait. Is this a suicide attempt? Does he plan to follow the path of his father and grandfather and die in a bloody, burning wreck? A splatter comedy, this one, sort of a "Evil Knievel meets Bad Taste". Not for everyone, but I guarantee most everyone can find humour here
